Orders changed

As you probably recall, we are in the middle of being moved to Staten Island. The movers are holding on to our household goods. Right now the Dr.s are saying it will be February or April before this is all said and done. We had a feeling that Staten Island was not going to be our home after all. Dave got the call yesterday from the personnel office. They are cancelling his orders to Staten Island. He is being given a "Personal Billet" for the next year. They are ordering him to take this year to get better, that is his job. Then they asked which command unit he would like his orders attached to. ... some of the practical options would be Boston or New London. He chose New London. Which I think the only thing that might change is the amount of housing allowance (if he had said Boston then he would have gotten more $). So, we will keep doing what we are doing and when this is over, we will have orders next year to someplace else.... where-ever that may be! In the mean time Dave has figured out how to check his work(Academy) email from any Internet computer. His comrades at the office have been sending him stuff to look over, edit, give an opinion on. It's not too much. And it does not appear to be anything they need right away. Dave has so much down time but also so little energy. He probably couldn't get into his uniform and put in a day at the office. It is FANTASTIC that they have been able to keep him engaged in some work! It may very well be one of the instrumental components that helps him trudge through this ordeal. (Thanks Guys!)
